We're looking for someone with a proven background in brand and consumer marketing to join this new and exciting sports Executive Team. In this newly created role, you will lead the brand development, consumer & digital marketing, and communications & media function for the brand and all related activities supporting the growth through digital channels. The aim is to become an Olympic Sport!
This role is at the heart of the brand’s mission to showcase the best players on the international stage and to inspire greater fan engagement and participation while delivering on the business objectives of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-day marketing lead for the sport, providing strategic direction while pushing the creative boundaries via integrated marcomms activation.
2. Lead all calendar communications activity (campaigns, announcements, Finals promotion, paid media, asset development), leading our Digital Content and working with our Partnership Managers to raise awareness, engagement and grow audiences to drive value and support revenue targets.
3. Execute marketing campaigns with excellence, working with cross-functional project teams to deliver against the strategy and hit key business and brand metrics through activation.
4. Execute PR and communications plans to connect with and engage key audiences, with experience of managing agencies.
5. Work with the CEO, General Manager and Commercial Director across strategic planning, digital products & channels (website, app and social media) and partner & broadcaster activity (inc. driving viewership).
6. Develop the brand including brand planning, brand identity and values.
7. Manage the Content and Digital teams, and digital content agency.
8. Work closely with the commercial team (partnerships sales, partnerships management, licensing & broadcast) to ensure all mutual objectives are met.
9. Own and effectively manage agency relationships across creative, content and media to optimise processes, drive creative output and deliver value for the organisation.
10. Financial responsibility for the annual marketing budget and approved campaign budgets.
11. Regular reporting and updates for senior stakeholders, and wider business when required.
At a Senior Level, You Will Have:
1. Marketing and consumer brand management experience, with demonstrable understanding of commercial dynamics and knowledge of the digital marketing landscape.
2. Track record in designing and executing brand/marketing plans for consumer brands.
3. Experience and understanding of a sporting press office and media management.
4. Work with digital products, analytics and research to drive actionable insights.
5. Experience in leading a team, working independently and balancing individual/collective workload. Evidence of having mentored and developed junior colleagues.
6. Demonstrated ability of having formed strong collaborative relationships to deliver complex, international projects.
7. Strong written and verbal communicator with experience with all levels of stakeholders.
8. Navigating complex challenges – problem-solving, standing alone and dealing with ambiguity.
9. Ability to manage external agencies to deliver at pace and scale.
10. Experience building excellent working relationships and dealing with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
11. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work and deliver under pressure.
12. Excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
13. Ability to adapt to meet changing priorities.
14. Native-level English, with fluency in other languages a bonus.
Full-time role working Monday to Friday from our London office, with occasional international travel.
