Behaviour Mentor Leicester LE - 105 per day Long-Term to Permanent Immediate Start

A dedicated alternative provision in Leicester is seeking an experienced and motivated Behaviour Mentor to join their supportive and close-knit team. This role focuses on helping Key Stage 2 and 3 students with challenging behaviour and special educational needs to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
With a key emphasis on sport and physical activity, the school values individuals with a sporting background or experience in sport-based mentoring, as this complements their holistic approach to behaviour management and engagement. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students with SEMH and behavioural needs to help them progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
* Act as a role model, leading by example and promoting positive behaviour.
* Offer guidance, mentoring, and pastoral support to students with diverse needs.
* Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages emotional resilience and self-regulation.
* Implement behaviour intervention plans and use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging or disruptive behaviour effectively.
* Collaborate with staff, students, and families to support individual behaviour plans (IBPs) and tailored interventions.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience working with special educational needs (SEND), particularly in an SEMH or alternative provision setting.
* A genuine passion for working within education and empowering vulnerable students.
* A proactive approach to supporting students with complex behaviour and fostering emotional wellbeing.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families.
* Up-to-date safeguarding training and knowledge of child protection policies.
* Ability to support students in a 1:1 or small group setting, using restorative practices and positive behaviour management.
To Be Eligible for This Role You Must:
* Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
* Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
* Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate with child barred list clearance, registered on the online update service, or be willing to apply for one.
* Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
Additional Desirable Skills:
* A background in sports coaching, youth work, or physical education, with the ability to engage students through sports-based mentoring.
* Training or qualifications in Team Teach, de-escalation techniques, or positive behaviour support (PBS).
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation strategies, and holistic education.
