Dartmouth Partners have been retained by an acquisitive, PE-backed Business Services Group to support them in their search for an M&A Director.
The M&A Director will play a critical role in driving their aggressive acquisition strategy. This position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in deal sourcing, negotiation, due diligence, and integration processes within a private equity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Planning: Develop and implement M&A strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives, identifying target sectors and companies that fit our acquisition criteria.
* Deal Sourcing: Proactively identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets through market research, networking, and industry analysis, building a robust pipeline of opportunities.
* Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial modelling and valuation analysis to determine the attractiveness and feasibility of proposed transactions.
* Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions of acquisitions, working closely with legal and financial advisors to ensure favourable outcomes for the company.
* Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams to assess financial, legal, commercial, operational, people and strategic aspects of potential acquisitions.
* Integration Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop integration plans that ensure smooth transitions and maximise synergies post-acquisition.
* Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, recommendations, and strategic insights to senior leadership and the board of directors, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
* Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in STEM subjects, Finance, Business Administration or a related field; Accountancy qualification, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, or corporate development, with a focus on private equity-backed transactions.
* Proven track record of successfully executing multiple acquisitions from sourcing to execution
* Strong financial acumen, with expertise in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and due diligence processes.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
