About the job Job summary The Ministry of Defence (MoD) employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 9,000 MoD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. The Army is a diverse and varied place to work. We are currently recruiting a Modernisation team for the 3rd (UK) Division to support the modernisation and implementation of new platforms to the Division. The 3rd (United Kingdom) Division - the Iron Division is the Army's heavy warfighting division. It is focused primarily on the Euro-Atlantic area but has the agility and interoperability to respond globally with US, European, NATO and other allies. The 3rd (UK) Division is looking to build a modernisation and capability integration team. The role is to be a key part of this exciting new team and to help field the next generation of equipment capabilities for the British Army. As new vehicles and equipment are produced and delivered to the Army, the position will identify, manage, and propose solutions to the fielding plan and integration of these vehicles into the division, including infrastructure, training, personnel, and organisational considerations. Delivery of major equipment programmes will likely make up a significant proportion of the role, but many niche programmes could also be included as well as the pan Defence Line of Development (DLOD) integration that goes with bringing in new capabilities. Job description The British Army has embarked upon its largest capability modernisation programme since the conclusion of the Second World War. 3 (UK) Division is the primary warfighting division of the British Army and is responsible in supporting the Field Army's Capability Branch in ensuring the Field Army can maintain its directed operational and readiness outputs whilst transitioning onto these new capabilities. This role will be key in delivering a world leading Armoured Division with the most lethal and high tech equipment globally. The successful candidate will form part of a small team focused on the fielding, management and integration of new capabilities into 3 (UK) Division. In addition they will assist in the development and execution of the Fd Army Modernisation Implementation Plan, by being part of the Modernisation team in the Divisional HQ.
