Why we're hiring: WPP SSC (Shared Service Centre) is undergoing an exciting global transformation, and we're looking for talented individuals to join our UK team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to delivering exceptional financial services to our UK companies. What you'll be doing: Our Accounts Receivable Department comprises Credit Control, Cash Allocation, and Media Billing teams. The Credit Control team currently includes Senior Credit Controllers, Credit Controllers, and a Reporting Analyst. Your team will play a key role in collecting approximately £350m monthly, working with 1650 external clients across various sectors and supporting 40 internal companies. You will manage cash collection for a portfolio of clients and provide insightful commentary for daily, weekly, and monthly reports. You will report to a Senior Credit Controller and collaborate closely with your colleagues. Your responsibilities will include: Managing payment collection for a dedicated debtor ledger and issuing statements to clients. Utilising the 'Get Paid' Credit Control tool to follow up with clients, ensuring timely payments according to contractual terms and collection targets. Building and maintaining relationships with key contacts at both client and agency levels. Proactively identifying potential payment delays and escalating concerns to the appropriate individuals. Providing insightful debtor commentary for weekly and month-end reporting. Participating in weekly debtor calls with agencies to discuss the current status and address any challenges with key accounts. Preparing bi-monthly cashflow forecasts. Representing the team in client and agency meetings as needed. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records and documentation. What you'll bring: Experience in a finance-related role, demonstrating your understanding of financial processes. Knowledge of fundamental accounting principles related to the sales ledger. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (intermediate to advanced skills).
