Prior experience working with children/young people or in a specific skill area Strong communication and leadership skills Enthusiasm for working with young people and helping them reach their potential Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons or activities Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment The ability to recognise the different needs and abilities of each young person What will you be doing? As a Youth Worker and Cadet Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering fun, engaging and educational activities to help cadets thrive. You'll lead sessions that promote personal development, teamwork and maritime skills while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver a variety of activities and lessons, including leadership, navigation and water-based skills Act as a mentor and role model for cadets, providing guidance and encouragement Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all cadets during training and events Collaborate with other volunteers to plan and execute unit events and programs Monitor the progress and development of individual cadets, providing feedback and support as needed
