The Energy Pricing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing pricing strategies to optimise profitability and competitiveness in the energy market. This role involves analysing market trends, regulatory changes, and cost structures to set pricing models for electricity, gas, or renewable energy products.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in energy markets, and a deep understanding of pricing methodologies.
Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):
* Design and implement energy pricing models to maximise profitability and market share.
* Develop and implement pricing models specifically tailored for renewable energy products, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power.
* Develop tariff structures and pricing methodologies based on regulatory frameworks and competitive positioning.
* Monitor and adjust pricing strategies in response to market dynamics and business goals.
* Analyse the impact of renewable energy sources on overall pricing strategies and adjust models to account for variability and intermittency.
* Monitor and analyse energy markets to understand the implications of import and export tariffs on pricing structures.
* Develop strategies to mitigate the impact of fluctuating tariffs on energy pricing and supply chain management.
* Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and adjust pricing models to reflect changes in import/export duties.
* Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify pricing trends and opportunities.
* Stay informed about local, national, and international policies affecting renewable energy pricing and import/export tariffs.
* Utilize data analytics and forecasting models to predict energy demand and price fluctuations.
* Assess the impact of regulatory changes on pricing structures.
* Analyse cost structures and margins to ensure sustainable pricing strategies.
* Collaborate with risk management teams to integrate pricing with hedging strategies.
* Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decision-making.
* Work closely with sales, finance, and regulatory teams to align pricing with business objectives.
* Support contract negotiations by providing pricing insights and competitive analysis.
* Engage with regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay informed of policy changes.
* Utilise pricing software and data analytics tools to enhance decision-making.
* Continuously improve pricing methodologies and automate processes where possible.
* Ensure compliance with internal pricing policies and external regulations.
Education and Experience:
* 5+ years of experience in energy pricing, energy trading, finance, or related fields.
* Experience in regulated and/or deregulated energy markets preferred.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Energy Management, or a related field.
* Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data analytics tools.
Skills and Competencies:
* Experience in wholesale and retail energy markets.
* Knowledge of energy procurement strategies and contract structures.
* Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting energy pricing.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
