The Role
Based at our Leeds office, we’re looking for a Workshop Technician to join our small team to test and maintain all sewer flow monitors, water quality instrumentation, and auto-samplers. Working hours are 40 hours per week, ideally 7.00am to 3.30pm, with the ability to be flexible according to business needs.
Your typical day will involve testing equipment, carrying out maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is ready for the Field Crew Operatives to use. Some of the tasks you will be involved with include:
1. Stripping sensors from water quality loggers, testing, and refitting or replacing.
2. This may include immersing the sensor into a test solution to ensure it operates at the agreed parameters.
3. Accessing the electronic components of the sewer flow logger, testing the circuit module, and replacing if needed.
4. Checking the sewer flow logger sensor accuracy in running water using our purpose-built flume.
5. Carrying out electro-mechanical maintenance of our waste water samplers.
6. Ensuring batteries are charged and ready for dispatch.
7. Helping to control stock levels of equipment alongside our Stores Team.
You will need good manual dexterity and some basic soldering skills, so electrical knowledge will be beneficial. You will also need to use our internal IT systems to track our assets, ensuring we know where they are at any one time. You will need to work safely in line with health and safety guidelines and our internal management system procedures.
What We’re Looking For
1. Strong hand-eye coordination and practical skills.
2. Interest in electronics and instrumentation technology.
3. Adaptability to shifting workloads based on Field Crew Operative demands.
4. Proficiency in IT, with daily use of PCs.
5. Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe working environment.
6. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
7. Proactive mindset, strong work ethic, and problem-solving ability.
Full training will be provided, so you don’t need previous experience in the sector; however, a track record in a similar environment would be an advantage.
What We Can Offer
1. Uplifted salary based on skills progression.
2. Contributory Company pension scheme.
3. Salary sacrifice cycle scheme.
4. Introduce a friend bonus scheme.
5. Career development and progression.
As well as the above, we will provide you with support and encouragement to learn and develop to truly reach your potential.

We are committed to acting as a key player in society, investing in innovative solutions to ensure social and environmental concerns are at the forefront of all of our business operations.
