Role: Assistant Tennis Coach (Level 1)
Location: South Ribble Tennis and Fitness Centre
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £25,704 - £26,113 (£13.54 - £13.75)
Closing Date: 9 March 2025
We are looking to recruit an LTA Assistant (Level 1) to join our team at South Ribble Leisure to assist a level 3 tennis coach on our Saturday morning mini tennis programme. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tennis and a basic understanding of the rules and technique with the ability to demonstrate basic skills to a class of children aged between 4-8 years.
What you’ll be getting up to
* Helping the lead coach to set out equipment for the class
* Organising children into small groups/pairs and overseeing them practice their skills. Intervening if they require support.
* Take instructions from the level 3 coach to help the class run smoothly
* Feeding balls to the players so that they can practice repetition of the technique, correcting when required
* Ability to adjust the feeding in accordance to the ability of the player.
Who we’re looking for
* We're looking for someone that is wanting to develop themselves as a tennis coach and gain experience whilst under the supervision of a level 3 coach.
* You will be a positive role model for the children and provide motivation and encouragement during the class
* You'll be able to work independently and co-operate well in a team environment.
* You will maintain health and safety, security and appropriate standards of behaviour to provide a duty of care to your colleagues and the general public.

* LTA Tennis Assistant Level 1
* Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
