e-Drive and Power Electronics Controls Engineer
About the Role:
We are undergoing a major transformation to electrify the powertrains of our passenger car business. Our UK R&D Centre is at the forefront of this work, developing the future generation of electrified, connected, and intelligent powertrains.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development of e-drive and power electronics control systems
* Capture and analyse requirements from stakeholders
* Design control algorithms & strategies using MATLAB/Simulink, generating production intent code
* Design system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications
* Develop diagnostic and safety monitoring strategies
* Validate electrical test bench, HiL, and vehicle tests
* Provide expertise for investigations and problem-solving activities
* Support system and hardware DFMEA and functional safety analysis
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic or Control System Engineering
* 10+ years' experience with real-time embedded control systems
* Background in Electrical Drive control software development
* Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, data logging tools (INCA, CANalyzer, CANape), and automotive protocols (CAN/ CAN FD)
* Direct experience in the Automotive Industry, preferably with some experience within the industry
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills, including documentation writing
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team

£80,000 - £110,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience/qualifications
