Job Description
Global engineering business requires a Commercial Contracts Manager. Applicants need contract management experience, including negotiating contracts with either customers or suppliers, in a B2B, manufacturing or engineering environment. The Commercial Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing a range of commercial contracts (supplier and customer), ensuring the business agrees to commercially advantageous agreements which also ensure compliance with industry/organisational requirements and mitigate risk.
Specific duties of the Commercial Contracts Manager include:
1. Review customer/supplier contracts and assess contractual and commercial risk
2. Draft, review and negotiate T&Cs of long term agreements
3. Act as commercial contracts SME to colleagues in Bids, Procurement, Sales etc.
4. Administer contracts - assess performance against T&Cs and compliance
5. Day-to-day contract management and contract change activities
6. In life and post-signature activities - contract extensions, claims, disputes etc.
7. Escalate complex issues/conflicts to colleagues in the legal department
8. Work with Legal and Commercial colleagues to improve contract management; tools, systems and processes
Commercial Contracts Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
1. Experience of managing contracts, in a contract management, commercial or procurement role
2. The ability to negotiate contracts, mitigate risks, respond/review contracts and draft responses
3. Excellent communication and relationship skills - internal stakeholders, external suppliers and customers
4. Law or Business degrees, IACCM, MCIPS, LPC, GDL qualifications would be advantageous but not essential
5. Comfortable working on site 4 days per week and 1 day remote
