About the role
This role would suit an aspiring Commis Chef to complete the apprenticeship.
Our Commis operates as a valued member of our talented Catering team demonstrating a real passion for food and being motivated to invent, produce, and present quality dishes in accordance with our hotel offer. We work to a high standard and as a key part of the team, you’ll comply with all food safety policies, procedures, and practices as essential when working in catering.
You'll be working as part of our friendly team to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the kitchen and to assist in providing a consistently high-quality dining experience while maintaining sales, reputation, and profit of the kitchen as agreed by the Head Chef.
You'll need to be flexible to work in different areas if required and adhere to all health and safety requirements at all times.
* Salary: The range is £24,400 - £31,000 (during the apprenticeship Rate of pay would be a base range minimum - rising once successfully qualified)
* Contract type: This position is a Permanent contract.
* Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Earliest start time 6:30 - latest finish time 9pm
* Location: This role is based at our Leckford Estate. Travel is required to cover the 3 locations at Leckford
* Live in is available
Key responsibilities:
As a Commis Chef, you'll typically be responsible for:
* Assisting the Head Chef & Sous Chef to plan, produce and deliver the hotel food offer and agreed food presentation standards, in line with current trends and customer demand.
* Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Meeting all legislative requirements for the Catering environment, to include allergens.
* Daily compliance which could include maintaining accurate records of equipment, cleaning schedules, temperature checks, following all food safety policies.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need:
* Professional kitchen experience.
* Basic computer skills.
* Great customer service.
* Able to multitask and prioritise.
Desirable skills/experience you may have:
* City & Guilds 706 1 and 2 or NVQ equivalent.
* Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
