Qargo is a tech start-up with offices based in London and Ghent. We are on a mission to transform the transportation industry by making it more efficient, profitable, and sustainable. Together we are building the most user-friendly and intuitive Transport Management System (TMS) on the market that automates administrative processes and optimizes planning. To help us achieve our mission and support our growth we’re looking for a Finance Assistant.
In this role, you will:
✅ Manage both AP and AR accountancy, overseeing all purchase/supplier relationships and serving as first point of contact for all accounts payable queries.
✅ Ensure timely payments are made and maintain an accurate purchase ledger to support reconciliations and month-end close processes.
✅ Obtain approval for all purchase invoices and ensure payments are made within credit terms on a weekly & monthly basis.
✅ Review employee expense reimbursement and process payments.
✅ Manage customer invoicing for both new and recurring billings alongside any ad hoc billing when needed.
✅ Perform weekly reconciliations of manual customer payments.
✅ Ensure all customer payments are made within the agreed credit terms.
✅ Follow up with customers on outstanding remittances or payment queries.
✅ Provide administrative support in office management, travel bookings, coordinating team events, etc.
What we are looking for:
✅ A bachelor/undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance, providing a good knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
✅ Approximately 3-4 years of experience in AP and AR, ideally in SME or Start/Scale-up environment.
✅ Strong technical and analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel.
✅ Excellent organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail.
✅ Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across the organization.
✅ Self-starter, who’s eager to learn and feels comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
✅ Knowledge of French / Dutch earns you bonus points!
