We’re looking for an organised, highly motivated and proactive Rents and Service Charge Officer to join our brilliant Rent and Service Charge Team. What you’ll be doing
You’ll be ensuring that rents and service charges are calculated in line with policy, are correctly entered into the rent system. You’ll be preparing service charge schedules for various schemes annually, correctly calculating revised charges based on policy, for review and sign off by housing teams.
With a strong attention to detail and your excellent organisation skills, you’ll be producing informative annual rent and service charge letters, helping complete annual income and expenditure reports, and responding to colleague queries. Maintaining accurate records, you’ll always be working to continuously improve our processes to provide the best service, working with your coordinator to meet best practice.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Confident in use of information technology including Excel and Word
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills with an ability to manipulate and manage data
* Actively promote value for money and efficiency
* Experience presenting information in a clear & concise way, both in writing and orally
* Accurate, numerate and keen attention to detail
* Ability to work on own initiative and within a team
* Experience of co-ordinating, analysing and presenting complex sets of numerical information
* Proficient in data entry and management
* Experience of working in a busy finance department
* Experience of creating and using complex spreadsheets
* Eagerness to develop own skills and adapt to change.
* Personal values and approach that align with YH’s values
* Ability to work flexibly in line with Hub, Home and Roam principles.
* An understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity and how this is applied through our service to customers and colleagues.
It would be a bonus if you have:
* Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements related to rent and service charge setting
* Ability to reconcile accounts
* Experience of using Open Accounts, Orchard
* Working in the housing sector – rent income accounting.
