Position Summary
A superb opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and ambitious individual to join our Finance team based in York. As a Costing Specialist, you will provide a professional accounting and decision support service to a range of manufacturing teams and co-packing operations, meeting strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with Company and legal standards.
A day in the life of a Costing Specialist
You’ll work closely with our Factory teams to ensure accurate input of the factory budgets, be a key contact for factory budget queries and ensure compliance with Nestlé Accounting Standards and all other guidelines issued. You will successfully support the financial month end close process, by providing service posting accruals and prepayments, as well as other support activities including insight to controllers. You’ll deliver a highly effective product costing service, maintaining system costs and calculating costs for product development. You will work alongside a variety of cross-functional teams, including offshore shared service centres, to create robust export transfer prices throughout a quarterly cycle as well as efficient resolution of adhoc requests relating to costing. In addition to this you will build and maintain effective working relationships with managers and key contacts in the factories and develop a good understanding of the manufacturing processes.
In addition to this you will:
1. Provide informed and highly effective decision support including weekly and monthly variance reporting.
2. Ensure all postings made are compliant and adhere to costing standards. Assist with audits as necessary.
3. Support Factory Controllers, Operations Management, Planning & Reporting teams, and above market with analysis and interpretation of factory reporting data.

You will also be able to demonstrate fantastic communication and influencing skills across a range of different stakeholder levels whilst being able to challenge the status quo when needed. An ability to understand how you impact the wider business performance is also essential for this role. Experience in F&C & manufacturing would be desirable.
