Production Planner Location: Near Cambridge Salary: Circa £35,000 Benefits We are a market-leading engineering company based near Cambridge, seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of manufactured products to our warehouses and customers, working to align production schedules with both demand and capacity. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely and uninterrupted supply of products to customers and warehouses, taking into account both production capacity and demand forecasts. Oversee the MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system for production items, ensuring the accuracy of settings and smooth execution of production processes. Proactively manage the release of new product introductions (NPI) and obsolescence, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to product availability. Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure that production schedules align with shipping deadlines, and meet minimum stock targets. Support the successful handover of new products from Engineering to Production, ensuring that production plans are adapted to accommodate new product releases and updates. Identify potential issues in the supply chain or production process early on and implement corrective actions to maintain a smooth flow of operations. Regularly review inventory levels and ensure that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels to meet demand without overstocking. Essential Skills and Experience: Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment, ideally in an engineering or technical industry. Strong understanding of MRP systems and production scheduling processes. Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to managing production and inventory flows. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, particularly in Production and Engineering, to align schedules and meet key deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience with product lifecycle management, including the management of new product introductions (NPI) and product phase-outs. Why Join Us?
