The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly motivated and innovative North Stroke & Neurological Rehabilitation Team as a 0.6 WTE Specialist Occupational Therapist. This service has a strong focus on MDT working and person centred care, providing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy to patients with Stroke and neurological conditions across North Lanarkshire. This is a highly specialist, forward thinking team who provide a supportive learning environment and who constantly strive towards improvement and excellence.
What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
* Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
* The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
* Practice education training and experience within the specific care group/speciality
* Evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice and/or research skills
* Sound knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter agency team working practices
Contract type
Permanent, Part Time, 22.3 hours
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in North Lanarkshire Stroke & Neurological Rehabilitation Team within Coathill Hospital.
