As part of these exciting plans, we have a Place & environment team who will focus on providing a full range of skilled / complex maintenance and repairs works that includes delivering our unique programme of major stock refurbishment, this includes ensuring void works are completed to a high standard supporting our community. The ideal applicant will have substantial experience as a senior multi-trade technician, serving as the expert and 'go to person'. Role Responsibilities • Extensive experience required in the following areas: Basic painting skills, Kitchen/Bathroom refurbishments, Basic Carpentry, General housing & commercial repairs Eg: Fixtures & Fittings, Installation of soft furnishings, Flooring installation (Karndean or other), Asbestos and Site management experience • To be competent in undertaking planned and remedial compliance works. eg: EICR, asbestos management with external support, FRA remedials • Planning and collaborating with other trade persons to meet Service led timelines • Provide KPI data and narrative to inform decision making • Collaborate with external stakeholders/ undertake site audits. • Support and cover the Voids Lead manager where necessary and agreed as a team leader and expert in ensuring service delivery. • Excellent IT skills and competent in the use of handheld device/tablet computer • Ensure all work is carried out safely, in accordance with our code of conduct with respect to our residents, staff and visitors whenever working in or outside of the property. • To carry out and lead identified works necessary to void properties in order to return them to the lettable standard in line with One YMCA’s procedures and timescales to a high standard. • To report any health and safety and/or safeguarding concerns that you see whilst working to a manager. • Carry out other specific tasks as instructed by the Place Maintenance Manager/ Head of Place Requirements • Extensive experience of a Seniority role within a Multi-trade role/ environment (Essential) • IOSH working safely • Previous experience of site management housing or commercial. (Essential) • To be competent in undertaking planned and remedial compliance works. eg: EICR, asbestos management with external support, FRA remedials (Essential) • Own tools necessary to carry out works (Essential) The post-holder will form an essential part of one YCMA’s customer focused service delivery and, as such, will always maintain the highest standards in terms of workmanship via ad hoc audits reviews. The post holder will also work closely with other members of the Place & Environment team but be equally confident when working on their own.
