Are you interested in working in an inpatient Mental health setting with a well established OT Service and MDT? If so, we may have the post for you!
A brilliant opportunity has arisen within the Luton inpatient acute mental health service. Due to internal development, an opportunity has arisen for an OT to join our teams as a band 5. In this post you will be supported by an experienced Specialist OT to develop a personalised CPD plan, with the aim of enabling you to develop the knowledge, skills and experience of a senior practitioner
You will be responsible for providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for the treatment of adults within the unit. You will utilise assessment and evaluation tools drawn from the Model of Human Occupation. The OT assessments and interventions will be recovery focused and client centred, supporting and enabling the person to achieve their goals in self-care, productivity and leisure. As part of the multi-disciplinary team your assessments will be essential in informing and planning positive discharge for the client.
You will work within the already well-established multi-disciplinary team to further develop the role of Occupational Therapy and to enhance the OT programme, both on the ward and in the community. This will be achieved through 1:1 intervention, group work, and enabling clients to access relevant local community resources to support discharge.
A planned, supportive induction period will be developed to enable you to reach your full potential in your role. If you have not yet completed your preceptorship, we will support you to complete one. Regular managerial and professional supervision will be provided and you will have monthly opportunities to participate in the service’s OT CPD events and shape service development through quality improvement. Professional development and training are actively encouraged through the appraisal process.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations
If you have these skills and wish to work with a supportive team who strive to achieve high standards please apply.
