Employment Type: Full Time/Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
Reporting to the UK Finance Manager - Specialist Services, this role is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts, information and reports. Our Seletar and Freight Management business generates a high volume of transactions including numerous back-to-back revenues and costs. Ensuring the effective monitoring of purchase order receipts and the issuance of sales invoices, along with a strong understanding of the importance of accuracy and timeliness is essential.
Responsibilities include:
1. Preparation and reporting of management accounts along with customer profitability analysis.
2. Preparation of budgets and forecasts for the business area, financial analysis compared to budget/forecast and customer profitability analysis.
3. To introduce/amend processes to improve system benefits, reporting, working capital management and deliver financial KPI targets.
4. Question and challenge current processes and assumptions within the business area.
5. Provide financial information to operational managers, increasing their financial understanding.
6. Work with operational teams to deliver business and financial improvements.
7. Prepare accurate and relevant balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner.
8. Understanding of customer contracts and operational/financial drivers.
9. Assist with commercial tenders/pricing activities where required.
10. Delivery of audit schedules and liaison with auditors Responsibility for Operations Support within the Seletar and Freight businesses.
11. Acting as an effective coach and mentor to others in the team.
12. Providing day to day financial, systems support and guidance to the business area.
13. Implementation and adherence to financial controls and processes.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
1. Appreciation of the importance of accurate and fully supported invoicing is essential.
2. High focus on detail, accuracy and consistency.
3. Professional and commercial outlook with a continuous improvement focus.
4. Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial information, meet deadlines and take projects to completion.
5. Awareness and appreciation of cashflow and the implication of actions on cash.
6. Strong Excel skills and experience of ERP systems.
7. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Accountant qualified by experience.
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
1. Exam Qualified or Qualified Accountant.
2. Previous experience in a similar role/industry.
