Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer / Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and assisting our dedicated team of electricians and installation engineers on site within the nuclear sector. This role requires a thorough understanding of industrial electrical systems, a high level of technical expertise, and the ability to work efficiently in a highly regulated environment. You will ensure that all work carried out on site meets the highest quality standard and assist our installation team through this endeavour providing technical advice and support throughout. You will be responsible for the management of handover documentation including production of electrical certificates, inspection sheets, & redline drawings etc.
This is a hybrid role working on site and within our office based in Aldermaston. The candidate will have a thorough understanding of electrical design and be capable of assisting in the production of design documentation to support our dedicated electrical design engineers. Your duties will include liaising with the client on technical matters providing solutions to any obstacles that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems
• Prepare and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, implementing effective solutions
• Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems and components
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project delivery
• Keep accurate on-site records and ensure all handover documentation is handed to our management team
• Stay updated with the latest electrical standards and technologies
Qualifications & Skills:
• Hold or be willing to apply for UK national security clearance (SC/DV)
• NVQ Level 3 qualification in electrical installation
• Testing & Inspection (C&G 2391 or equivalent)
• Design & Verification (C&G 2396 or equivalent)
• BS7671 18th Edition
• ECS Gold / Black Card
• SSSTS / SMSTS (preferable)
• Valid UK driving licence
• Proficient computer skills including the use of Trimble ProDesign (or similar)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards

• Competitive salary - Dependent on Experience (£60'000.00 - £80'000.00)
