About The Role Due to the continued success and expansion of Magdalene we have an exciting opportunity for a Telecoms Field Engineer to join our team in Belfast. As a Telecoms Field Engineer you will be part of our diverse team who are responsible for the successful delivery of various projects across the country.

Magdalene provides specialist services to our clients in the fixed, mobile and utilities infrastructure networks for both public and private sectors of the market. Our services include acquisition, design, construction, rigging, first line maintenance, managed services, capital project delivery, complete network outsourcing, smart metering, and satellite solutions.
What will you be doing?
The role involves installation and commissioning work, 1st line reactive maintenance work on our support contracts and working at height. You will work on a fixed hours basis Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 plus a rotational on-call rota that can deliver services to our customers 24/7, 365 days a year. This a UK role based in Northern Ireland so there will occasionally be requirements to work away from home and you will need a full driving licence.
Training, where necessary, will be given to carry out your role and progression opportunities within our team will be fully supported.
What will your key responsibilities be?
Preparation and termination of radio frequency (RF) feeder, electrical (DC), fibre and copper cables.
Performing industry standard testing as required on telecoms and antenna systems e.g. radio frequency (RF) sweeps, ethernet and network testing.
Equipment installation and commissioning across various projects and technologies.
Wiring and connection of DC power to telecoms equipment to required standards and regulations.
1st Line Support and troubleshooting of customer equipment to include, however not limited to mobile network equipment, data-comms equipment, switching equipment, VOIP management systems.
Planned preventative maintenance.
Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS) creation and work area/vehicle management.
Completion of site surveys to enable installation.
Understand our customers needs and work to meet our contractual obligations.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
Full Driving Licence.
Willingness to travel.
Previous experience working as a Field Engineer in the Telecoms sector - use of equipment; Radio Frequency (RF) tools, hand & power tools and working at height.
A strong set of IT skills which would include the Microsoft Office products, basic DOS commands, mobile phone work apps and online time sheets.
Analytical skills and logical thinking to assist in fault diagnosis and resolution.
An interest in new equipment & technology and keenness to learn about it.
