U-Educate is currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a nurturing SEN (Special Educational Needs) school. This full-time role, starting as soon as possible, provides a fantastic opportunity to support students with a variety of additional needs and contribute to their personal and academic growth.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may face challenges with behaviour and emotional regulation. Your role will involve providing tailored support to help them overcome these challenges, ensuring they can engage with their learning in a positive and effective way. You will work alongside teaching staff to create an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting Students with Behavioural Needs: Work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis to support their emotional and behavioural development.
* Creating Positive Learning Environments: Help to establish a calm, focused, and supportive environment where students can engage with their learning and develop essential life skills.
* Promoting Positive Behaviour: Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and self-regulation, providing students with the tools they need to manage their emotions and reactions.
* Working Closely with Teachers and Support Staff: Collaborate with other staff members to ensure that each student's individual needs are met and that interventions are effectively delivered.
* Monitoring Student Progress: Track students' progress in managing their behaviour and provide feedback to teachers and parents to ensure ongoing development.
* Supporting Social and Emotional Development: Work to build students' social skills, self-confidence, and resilience, helping them to interact positively with peers and adults.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience: You should have experience working with students, preferably in an SEN setting, or with young people who may face emotional, behavioural, or social challenges.
* Understanding of Behaviour Management: A solid understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques is essential, as well as the ability to apply these in a supportive, nurturing way.
* Patience and Empathy: The ability to approach students with understanding, patience, and empathy is crucial for success in this role.
* Strong Communication Skills: You should be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring clear and supportive communication at all times.
* A Passion for Helping Young People: A genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students, particularly those with additional needs, is key.
* Resilience and Adaptability: You will need to remain calm and flexible, adapting your approach based on individual student needs and the dynamic nature of the school environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Right to Work in the UK: You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS Check: An enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate is required, or you must be willing to apply for a new check.
* Professional References: Two professional references that demonstrate your suitability for working with children and young people.
