We have an opening for a Commercial Underwriter to join our underwriting team.
This is a hybrid opportunity with two days working from our London or Bristol office.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the ongoing development of our Commercial Direct product suite with the focus on achieving growth and profitable financial targets across all distribution channels.
You will build and adapt the Commercial Direct Van products to achieve growth and aid in the delivery of financial targets across all distribution channels. You will work with the Business to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships providing necessary underwriting and e-trade design & build expertise to enable the efficient construction and ongoing maintenance of these products.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Support the delivery of top and bottom line financial performance for the Van products ensuring periodic reviews and underwriting actions are carried out within a set timetable.
2. Take responsibility for the scoping, design, and underwriting specification of Van product.
3. Take responsibility for scoping, design, specification and manage the technical underwriting content of appropriate policy documentation as required.
4. Assist with UW Strategy, problem solving, underwriting function and development whilst ensuring Service Standards, Systems and Governance Framework procedures are adhered to.
5. ‘Championing’ the Van Products by working with and building strong relationships with Key Stakeholders, Van development, Third Party suppliers, fraud squad ensure profitable account growth in line with budget.
6. Work with Pricing to continually assess and develop the Van Products.
7. Ensure our Risk 1st line of defence is maintained through effective process management and auditing.
8. Assist in ensuring the Van Products are maintained and developed in line with strategic, regulatory, and statutory developments.
9. Ensure expert market and product knowledge of designated product areas including all inputs to underwriting knowledge systems.
What skills and qualities you will have:

Hours: 35 hours per week ( Monday- Friday)
