Red Sky are recruiting for an Auto Electrician at Heathrow Airport. The main purpose is to carry out routine electrical works including vehicle preparation and the fitting of electronics equipment. Undertake relevant repairs of vehicles to required standard, service and fault diagnosis. Ensure that any electronic problems or malfunctions are identified and resolved in a timely manner. Adhere to corporate Health and Safety guidelines, ISO 9001 framework and the guidelines on vehicle maintenance. Shift pattern: Monday to Friday or 4 on 4 off - 0600h to 1800h. Salary: £47,179.00 Main Duties and Responsibilities: Determine malfunction of electrical systems on a wide variety of equipment by visual inspection of vehicle/equipment and coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor regarding day to day activities. Repair or replace defective wiring, lighting, air conditioning, and safety control systems. Control and update the relevant maintenance records on daily basis. Test and replace faulty alternators, generators, starter motors, batteries, voltage regulators, etc and repair/replace faulty ignition systems, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches. Install, maintain and repair electrically operated accessories, including telematics systems. Familiarisation of test instruments to carry out testing and quality control inspections and fully conversant with wiring/circuit diagrams to find and repair electrical faults. To work as part of a team, maintaining a good working relationship between colleagues and customers. Adhere to correct working procedures, highlighting any errors or safety issues promptly to Management. Job cards/inspection sheets must be completed correctly in line with TCR guidelines. To keep the working area clean and tidy, reporting any Health and Safety issues promptly. Undertake any other duties or activities as required including airport and ground support equipment, this will include Workshop Supervisor duties as and when required. Qualifications: Level 2 / 3 in Auto Electrical and Mobile Electrical Principles BTEC HNC Diploma City & Guilds LGV 2 (Desirable but not essential) Forklift (Desirable) Knowledge, Skills & Experience Ability to diagnose electrical malfunctions within automotive systems Knowledge of fundamentals of electrical wiring and ability to read electrical wiring diagrams Good practical and analytical skills for using a range of tools and electronic instruments Up to date knowledge with regards to developments in engine and electrical technology Ability to work methodically and pay close attention to detail Good at solving complex problems and ability to communicate electrical issues in layman terms Ability to work alone and as part of a team Understanding of TCR procedures and systems Customer oriented/service delivery focused General knowledge of health and safety regulations Experience of working in a vehicle electronics role with excellent diagnostic skills Mechanical knowledge Operational vehicle/logistical background Full UK driving licence Experience of working in a customer focused environment
