The company has opportunities for a Printer working in our Reflex Label site in Boston.
Roles and Responsibilities
This role will report directly into the Production Manager and will be an integral part of the Printer team. As a printer, you will operate UV flexographic printing presses including various types of Mark Andy P Series printing machines. You will review client requests to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs, determine quantities required for print jobs, and match colours per job request.
As part of your job, there are tasks that you will be required to perform, which normally require training that could take the form of “on the job training”, off-site training, and/or alternative training courses.
* Ensure all printing tasks are carried out to high standards and that these standards are maintained.
* Operate and maintain production speeds on your shift, setting times to targets and recording/reporting in areas where this is not possible.
* Work constantly towards production improvements in methods, eliminate potential quality problems, and reduce downtime.
* Liaise with the production manager to achieve the best possible machine utilisation with minimum wastage while ensuring excellent quality at the best possible delivery dates.
* Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing information.
* Follow all aspects of Quality Control and Quality Assurance in the Print Department and ensure accurate records are maintained.
* Ensure teamwork and maintain safe working systems to keep personnel free from injury and operations safe and efficient.
Ensure collaborative working within the Print Department via good communication.
Tasks
* Understanding and use of the company handbook.
* On-line health and safety awareness training.
* Your responsibilities and use of health and safety/fire safety within the company.
* Loading of specified and allocated material.
* When required, route material web path around turner bar and delaminate material in order to print on adhesive.
* Lay flexible cutter onto magnetic cylinder and load into press. QC of die strike.
* Load plates and print cylinders into relevant print station according to print sequence.
* Select the relevant size of anilox roller to achieve correct colours and densities of ink.
* Print applied to material in sequence, ensuring correct weight distribution on print plates.
* Examine proofs, colour standards, and AVT PDF verification to detect errors and evaluate the adequacy of impression clarity.
* Continue all QC checks during print run to ensure colour, print quality, and die strike consistency is maintained throughout.
* Clean anilox rolls and ink trays after run completion.
* Ensure line clearance has been followed before proceeding with the next job.
Skills
* Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
* Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.
* Ability to follow instructions.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Experience working within a team with a good standard of communication.
* Experienced Printer.
