We have exciting nursing opportunities on SEAU (Surgical Emergency Assessment Unit) at Lincoln County Hospital, for you to join one of the most dynamic clinical teams within United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust.
SEAU is a 20 bed inpatient surgical emergency assessment unit with a SAU (Surgical Assessment Unit) delivering same day emergency care working within our ward. We take direct referrals from A&E, SAU, GP, Clinics, Out of Hours, Hospital Transfers, Speciality Consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists, we treat a range of acute surgical conditions. We are a quick paced, forever changing environment that requires highly motivated professionals to work with enthusiasm and compassion, managing their time effectively to prioritise patient care whilst meeting the demands and needs of the unit.
Applicants will be expected to work all shift patterns.
Main duties of the job
Duties for this post will include clinical duties such as assessing, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care and supporting colleagues in providing care of the highest standard.
Working with and leading the multi-disciplinary team, you will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will need to be a role model, both clinically and professionally with the ability to motivate and manage, adapting to rapidly changing situations.
You will frequently be the designated shift coordinator and will be expected to deputise for the Department Manager. You will be supported to be an efficient Team Leader who is able to co-ordinate effectively whilst maintaining the flow through the department and keeping the highest standards of care and good team morale.

* Experience of having worked in acute environment.
* Have experience of acting as 'shift coordinator' / Bleep Holder on a regular basis in an acute environment.
* Recent experience of implementing change and nurse led initiatives.
* Experience of mentoring students and acting as preceptor to newly qualified nurses.
* Participated in the induction of new staff
* Demonstrate when they have supported junior staff in education and training.
* Demonstrate commitment to achieving targets of Reforming Emergency care.
* Report and respond to clinical and non clinical Incidents appropriately

* Experience of involvement in clinical audit.
* Experience of working in acute emergency assessment areas
