Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Assistant Team Manager, Wrexham Council, Childrens Social Work Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Assist the Team Manager to manage the social work service which safeguards from harm and promotes the wellbeing of children in need / vulnerable adults to the designated client group of people who need care and support, and their carers, across the Borough in line with departmental policy based on relevant legislation.
2. Assist the Team Manager to manage other fieldwork services for that same client group.
3. Assist in the efficient management of the resources of the team with particular regard to the quality of service provision in accordance with WCBC policy and statutory requirements, within a given budget.
4. Previous management experience is essential, strong risk assessment skills, and a proven record of front line child protection experience and court work. The candidate will work alongside three other Assistant managers.
5. The team is very busy managing complex work ranging from Child in need cases, Child protection and care proceedings.
6. Liaise with other professionals.
7. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
8. 3 month Temporary Contract.
9. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.
