Within the medico-legal industry (clinical negligence/personal injury/child protection), it is well-recognised that experienced doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals can add significant value to the preparation of medical records – for both solicitors and experts. At MRC, we pride ourselves on providing a highly regarded medical record collation and analysis service for many law firms and local councils nationwide. MRC are seeking applicants with a varied medical background - doctors, nurses or healthcare professionals - with a willingness to learn to sort medical records and prepare chronologies with a summary document. Regardless of experience, MRC offer a full induction programme and are committed to supporting your continuous professional development (CPD) and maintaining your NMC registration. This role will allow you to draw on your extensive acquired knowledge and clinical experience. If you can demonstrate being organised, logical, analytical, with a keen eye for detail, and have excellent communication and IT skills, we would love to hear from you. Requirements Sorting medical records from various sources, including GPs and Hospital Trusts, into chronological order and within approved sections · Preparing and typing indexes · Preparing and typing detailed medical chronologies · Preparing and typing detailed summary reports, and highlighting missing/illegible records and the salient issues of a claim – showing an understanding of breach and causation · Working within MRC guidelines and using company templates · When fully trained, working to utilisation and accuracy targets in a fast-paced environment · Providing support to clients and colleagues as required Key Skills As a minimum you must: · Be meticulous in nature and pay exceptional attention to detail · Be able to work logically, methodically, and efficiently whilst under pressure · Have exceptional written grammar and communication skills · Have excellent IT literacy and reasonable typing skills · Be able to work within a team and independently Benefits · Ideally we are looking for a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours pw, but may consider part-time on a minimum 22.5 hours pw for the right applicant · Opportunity for on-site or hybrid working and on an employed basis · Competitive salary · 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (if employed and pro-rated if part-time) · Ability to maintain your NMC registration, with support from MRC to help meet all of the revalidation requirements · Opportunity to buy additional leave · Contributory pension scheme · Optional company medical cover · On-site parking · No weekends/night shifts Joining MRC offers an exciting new chapter in your career, and we would be thrilled to hear from candidates that consider themselves team players and are looking to play a vital role in our commitment to growth and development.
