The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent). Experienced in teaching Music at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience teaching Key Stage 5 (A-Level Music, BTEC Music, or similar) is desirable but not essential. Proficient in at least one musical instrument and/or voice. Passionate about music and able to inspire students of all abilities. An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills. Committed to raising student achievement and fostering a love of music. A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community, including extra-curricular music activities. Dedicated to their own professional development. A skilled Music Teacher Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons across the relevant Key Stages. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with varying musical experience. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback, both written and practical. Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes musical creativity, performance, and appreciation. Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Music department and across the school. Contribute to the development and delivery of extra-curricular music activities, such as choirs, orchestras, bands, and school productions. Organize and prepare students for performances, both internal and external. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress. Ensure all pupils are safe.
