Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, Finance Permanent, Full Time (Hybrid working role - minimum three office-based days a week in London) About the Team PPL’s Finance team manages the planning, organising, auditing and accounting for the company’s finances. They are responsible for all incoming and outgoing payments, including making over 150,000 payments to performers and recording rightsholders annually. What you’ll be doing: As our FP&A manager you will lead, manage and motivate the Financial Planning & Analysis team and Accounts Payable teams to deliver a quality service to internal customers and assist in the management of the company’s finances, continuously improving business processes and managing costs through the development of team members, whilst consistently achieving departmental objectives. This role will have full responsibility for the Company P&L, detailed reporting and analysis relating to both revenue and costs to help make key business decisions and also drive process/reporting improvements. In addition, the role has full responsibility for preparation for the annual budget and re-forecast cycle as well as the development of long-term plans. The role includes, working closely with the rest of the Finance department in order to carry out their responsibilities and ensure consistency and best practice is developed and maintained across the function. You will also work closely with the Finance Manager to provide strong support to the CFO & Financial Controller. Having a strong relationship with EMT, department heads and other budget-holders is key as you will be reporting and reviewing actual and forecast performance at both detailed and summary level. The FP&A Manager will work co-operatively and positively with all internal departments to ensure the team provide a service for ad-hoc financial requirements. You will also be the key Finance partner for the Public Performance Joint Venture PPL PRS. External contact will mainly be with PPL’s external Auditors as this role is a key resource for both the statutory and distribution audits. Key Responsibilities will include: To take full responsibility for the performance management of the financial planning and analysis team to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in line with Company Policies and Procedures. Full responsibility for the company profit & loss account and relevant sections of the Balance Sheet to ensure they are completed accurately and on a timely basis, and to provide supplementary reporting, analysis and support to all budget holders and the Executive team. Leadership of the annual budget and monthly re-forecasts including presentation to key stakeholders such as the CFO, Financial Controller, Head of Department and EMT. To lead on cost control measures and initiatives across the organisation. Responsibility for development and delivery of long-term financial plans for the company. To ensure the provision of timely and valuable management and operational information across the business, maintaining and expanding a range of reports in order to assist budget holders in the effective management of their costs and revenue targets. To play a key role in the development of system and process changes, implementing improvements of Finance processes (including profit and loss reporting and month-end process, reporting and analysis, etc.) and systems to achieve an effective and efficient way of working. Responsible for the maintenance, development and integrity of key planning and reporting tools. To play a key role in the annual statutory audits in order to ensure PPL/VPL are complaint in all responsibilities within this area. To be responsible for the management of the workflow and performance of the team, against defined goals and objectives, using all available management information, ensuring that service standards, targets and quality are achieved and maintained. Successful management experience within a commercially focused finance team, managing people, workflow and service levels internally across the business. Experience of full end-to end ownership of budget and forecast process across a company, including consolidation. Confident dealing with and presenting to colleagues of all levels, particularly senior management, and manage multiple requests for information. Ability to tailor reports, presentations, commentaries to the right audience. Ability to analyse, interpret and provide insight and commentary on financial reports Significant knowledge of Management Accounting, forecasting and budgeting. Experience of preparing reports and analysis for presentation to senior management. A good understanding of the different functions of finance including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
