We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our Children’s Therapy Service based in Chorley & South Ribble. We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Occupational Therapist looking for their next challenge. Ideally we would like to recruit to a band 6 position and therefore; this post would be suitable for somebody already working as an Occupational Therapist in paediatrics who is keen to specialise in the physical aspects of neurodevelopmental disabilities focusing on motor and functional difficulties. We would also consider someone who has transferable skills and a real desire to work with children and young people in the community. In this case a development post may be offered to the right candidate and you would be supported to progress from Band 5 to Band 6 once clinical competencies have been achieved. In both cases successful candidate must be able to effectively manage their own time and demonstrate excellent communication skills. This role offers in-house and external training opportunities and a structured period of time to consolidate learning and knowledge whilst being supported to develop band 6 skills to manage an increasing complex caseload independently. You will become a specialist in assessing occupational performance and delivering specialist interventions. You will have a dedicated mentor and access to regular clinical supervision, appraisals, management supervision and professional support. You will also have access to our highly experienced clinical leads and Trust AHP leads. You will work alongside speech and language therapists and physiotherapists in the team as well as working closely with other colleagues in health, education and social care to provide holistic and child-centred care. The role covers a variety of locations, including clinics, children’s own homes, nurseries and schools.
