Job Title: Landfill Gas Engineer Location: Bristol
40,000 per annum + bonus

Omega are supporting one of the UK’s leading providers of waste management services, in their search for a Landfill Gas Engineer in the Bristol Region with travel to South Wales as and when is necessary. The Landfill Gas Engineer will complete planned maintenance and breakdown response on the gensets/gas plant in ways that minimise downtime and ensure the completion of day-to-day operations and maintenance, including but not limited to, fault diagnosis, location, and rectification.
Key Responsibilities – Landfill Gas Engineer
Commission/exchange generators and all associated equipment (ranging from the generator to the telephone line.)
Work on and monitor the gas field to maintain gas control and sustainable fuel sources for the generators.
Provide 24-hour emergency call out cover to respond to generator set failures when necessary.
Complete air emissions monitoring and environmental spill control using spill control equipment.
Monitor and ensure that all sites are compliant with current legislation (including environmental legislation).
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Company’s operations and maintenance standards, procedures, manuals, and stock systems.
Execute generator and gas field maintenance.
Maintain and repair all mechanical and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at
specified LFG facilities.
Maintain and inspect LV electrical equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements – Landfill Gas Engineer
A qualification in mechanical and or electrical engineering.
An awareness of all current environmental protection legislation.

Candidates who are currently a Landfill Gas Technician, Environmental Engineer, Gas Extraction Engineer, Landfill Gas Operations Engineer, Waste Management Gas Engineer, Landfill Energy Engineer, Gas Collection Engineer, Environmental Consultant, Sustainability Engineer or a Renewable Energy Engineer may be suitable for this position.
