Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in manufacturing on a permanent basis, to be located in West Cumbria. Responsibilities; Continual improvement of the Quality Management System, ensuring key processes, procedures and documentation are in place to comply with national, industry and customer specific standards. To fully support, both the customer and accreditation body audits as well as coordinating any resulting CAPA's. Handling various enquiries in relation to Quality related matters from internal and external stakeholders and support customer and supplier visits as necessary. Maintain, improve and drive forward shop floor processes by promoting and enforcing compliance. Represent the Quality department at internal and off site meetings as required, may include supplier audits. Liaise with other departments for example Technical and Operations to ensure delivery of conforming products to our Customers. Supporting audits, internal and external. Lead problem solving and continuous improvement activity. Produce and deliver training materials. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers and approval authorities. Requirements Proven experience of working in a Quality environment. Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems. Proficient in the use of quality core tools around APQP and 8D. Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001 and Lean Sigma tools would be an advantage. Qualified to Degree standard in an Engineering or related engineering discipline.
