We are looking for a maintenance engineer to join my clients team on a full time permanent basis. My client offers a good package alongside their basic salary to include a individual and company targeted bonus, private health care, gym membership and much more. Basic purpose: To ensure compliance with UK and EHS & Food safety regulations and policy, and any other statutory / site requirements laid down in the SHEQ master system. To provide an engineering service to production in carrying out routine planned maintenance, and reactive breakdown repair of the site mechanical and electrical installation, ranging from daily checks and inspections to major servicing, reconditioning and overhaul of the production plant machinery to maintain site OEE KPI. Provide production support as needed to ensure production schedule is achieved. Provide engineering cover and call-out when required on shift to meet production requirements. Assist in the planning and supervision of contractors work, including permit control. Professional Requirements: Engineering Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) & HNC/D. Mechanical proficiency with respect to the use of hand and machine tools. Electrically proficient with single and three phase supplies to 17 th / 18 th edition standard. Previous experience in dairy or food industry will be advantageous but not essential. Experience with PLC controlled plant. Experience of steam raising plant and its maintenance. Experience of pneumatic systems. Personal Requirements: Ability to assess risks and work safely. Ability to work on own initiative with a positive attitude. Problem solving and analytical skills. Flexible approach to work. Ability to work with on-site staff and contractors in an advisory capacity. Ability to work safely in adverse conditions, confined spaces and at height.
