Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic Audiologist to support our diagnostic and rehabilitative service. You will have a BSc/MSc in Audiology or BSc/MSc in Healthcare Science (Audiology) or equivalent, or in the process of registering, with RCCP. The successful applicant will have general Paediatric and Adult Audiological experience that includes tinnitus experience, and have at least 5 years post-graduate experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to perform Adult audiology assessments and provide a comprehensive hearing aid and rehabilitation service to adults with Tinnitus and Hyperacusis and Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), and liaise with family and carers where appropriate. They may be involved in domiciliary work.
They will be responsible for the day to day running of a specific section or project within the Audiology service, within own area of expertise and as agreed with the manager.
They will engage in the training of junior team members and students and provide supervision as appropriate.
About us
Guy's and St. Thomas' Audiology service is located across two sites: St. Thomas' (situated across the river from the Houses of Parliament), and Guy's (situated near London Bridge). The successful applicant will be based mainly at Guy's or St Thomas' sites, and will go to patient's homes as well as King's College Hospital to do ward visits. There will be some remote working. The Trust is committed to ongoing professional training and development.

Skills
Essential
* In depth theoretical knowledge of assessment and management of tinnitus and hyperacusis.
* Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to deal with a varied patient group which may include learning difficulties.
* Awareness of new developments within the assessment of Audiology patients.
* Ability to deliver presentations to local and national audiences.
* Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work with competing demands.
* Knowledge and experience of equipment maintenance and calibration issues.
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Desirable
* Awareness of national Audiology policy and NHS developments.
* Previous experience of Auditbase patient management system.
* Previous experience of various hearing aid brands.

* Significant post graduate experience of independently assessing and managing patients with Audiological disorders including tinnitus patients.
* Experience with supporting tinnitus patients with assistive devices.
* Experience of supervising and mentoring junior staff members.
* Experience of undertaking audit and involvement in service development/ quality assurance.

* Experience of undertaking research within the area.

* Evidence of CPD.
* Eligible for registration with RCCP or HCPC.
