Job Description
Main Accountabilities:
1. Manage the fit, size & function of styles from concept to launch.
2. Provide accurate size charts with consistent size grading that form part of the tech packs to suppliers.
3. Stick to the critical path with the product team and ensure all timelines are met, including tech packs and sample deadlines.
4. Bring to market world-class, fit-for-purpose products built and engineered to Represent standards.
5. Attend prototype review meetings, size set, PP, and production sample meetings, taking the technical lead in all fit sessions.
6. Fit garments to a high standard, gathering accurate feedback to provide detailed comments to the factories.
7. Work with the product team to create new garment specs and collaborate to determine the best fabric and trim combinations.
8. Responsible for day-to-day Garment Tech operational tasks to deliver the goals and objectives set by the Head of Womenswear in line with the company vision.
9. Independently plan and organize allocated workload in line with duties set by the Technical Manager, ensuring all tech packs are of the highest standard and can be accurately translated by the factory into the best quality first prototypes.
10. Co-ordinate daily communication with all suppliers, including chasing fit samples.
11. Support the Technical Manager with relevant testing and test reports, approval of care labels, and communicate any issues to find solutions.
12. Conduct thorough checks of all samples submitted to ensure they meet Represent’s high fabric and construction standards.
13. Provide technical skills and expertise to ensure all garments are fit for purpose.
14. Understand, recommend, and execute commercial construction solutions.
15. Maintain & update the PLM.
16. Be aware of all factory shipment dates.
Key Skills & Experience:
1. Luxury mindset with commercial awareness.
2. Collaborative, non-political approach.
3. Appropriate qualification in the apparel sector or equivalent work experience.
4. Excellent garment construction and engineering skills.
5. Ability to measure and grade to a high standard.
6. Sound understanding of fabrics and testing methods.
7. Knowledge of pattern making is an advantage but not essential.
8. Demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem-solving.
9. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify risk and confidently provide solutions.
10. Experience in a fast-paced environment.
11. Extensive knowledge of Excel & PLM.
12. Hands-on approach.
13. Strong organizational skills.
14. Strong understanding of future regulations, for example, digital product passport.
You have:
1. 3-4 years of Garment Technologist experience.
2. Factory experience.
3. Pattern cutting skills.
4. Excellent garment construction knowledge.
5. Excellent communication skills.
You might have:
1. Branded apparel experience.
2. Knowledge and passion for sustainability.
3. Experience & understanding of garment/fabric test reports.
