Your new company
HAYS Property & Surveying are proud to be working in collaboration with a National Property & Construction specialist, as they search for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for their Belfast office. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful individual to head up their PQS component locally, under the stability of the experience across their UK network. It comes at a time of continued growth and success, both in Northern Ireland and further afield. The autonomy of this Senior leadership role, coupled with the relative flexibility of the local director's involvement, should appeal to those looking for more freedom or less red-tape in their day-to-day role.
Your new role
You will lead the QS component of minor works projects in the Belfast Office, and lead the marketing of the organisation's PQS offering. This includes compiling bids for public sector opportunities and seeking/growing opportunities in the private sector (both in NI & RoI). Working with local leadership, you will be tasked with growing the NI team's Project/Cost monitoring output in Belfast, liaising with current clients and seeking to expand the customer base. Occasional travel across NI/RoI and wider UK will be required to execute work opportunities. All other roles & responsibilities will encompass those commonly expected in a PQS position within consultancy.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with circa 5 years post-Chartership experience. You should have practical experience as a 'traditional QS', including taking off quantities (QTOs), compiling price lists, and valuing and certifying works completed. Proficiency in the preparation of contractor documents and experience across standard forms including NEC3/4, JCT, and traditional is essential. Ideally, your background will cover both private and public sector works, but more importantly, you should possess a can-do attitude, a team-player ethos, and motivation to succeed in a stand-alone position within an ambitious consultancy.
What you'll get in return
A full-time position with an established, well-networked consultancy with coverage across the UK, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. This position is pivotal for their Belfast office and should appeal to those looking for an opportunity to showcase their abilities in a supported environment. With attractive office space, progressive remuneration, and career development routes, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
