The CPFT CESR fellowship programme provides a personalised
programme for doctors wishing to gain entrance to the specialist register
through the CESR process.
Dependent on individual development needs it will include inpatient,
community and emergency work as well as opportunities to gain
experience in a range of non-clinical areas.
The CESR fellows will also receive clinical and educational supervisor
with a focus on professional development and successful CESR
application.
Main duties of the job
Initial placements will be subject to agreement with the successful candidates, but it is anticipated that the initial two years will consist of two twelve month placements working at Senior Clinical Fellow level. Placements are based in either the North (Peterborough), Central (Huntingdon) or the South (Cambridge) of the Trust in one of CAMHS community teams or inpatient units (Darwin or the Croft). A further year can be arranged dependent on the professional and developmental needs of the candidate.
Throughout the programme the appointee will have three SPAs each week including a protected special interest day. This can be used for additional clinical experience such as crisis work and psychotherapy, development of non-clinical competencies and portfolio development.
The post holder will provide medical leadership to the respective teams maintaining the highest clinical standards in the assessment and management of patients with acute mental disorders and sharing responsibility for day to day management of the services
with active supervision from the designated Consultant Psychiatrist. The post holder will also be expected to attend and contribute to team meetings and clinical governance meetings and to be involved in teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other disciplines.

Job Planning & Appraisal
Job Plans are reviewed with the hosting clinical supervisor and the relevant associate Clinical Director/Clinical Director. Associate Specialist Doctors are required to take part in the annual appraisal process and engage with Revalidation as described in the Trust's Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Policy.
On Call / Emergency Duties
Candidates are expected to participate in day on call rota. Further discussions to be made regarding out of hours on call rota
So far as it is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties the post holder undertakes to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues. The post holder undertakes, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
Accommodation
The candidate will have access to an office with a computer and other accessories with full access to the Trust intranet and the NHS network.
Arrangements for Leave
This is arranged by mutual agreement of colleagues and approval of the Consultant/line manager in accordance with standard Trust/NHS regulations. It is essential that six weeks notice be given to allow for proper planning and prevent cancellations of patients' appointments. This includes all forms of leave.

* Significant post graduate experience in Child and adolescence psychiatry
* Proven experience of good working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team.
