An exciting opportunity for a qualified pharmacy technician to take a different direction in their career as part of a friendly, enthusiastic and growing team. You will be working with the team to support the achievement of medicines optimisation projects. The specialist pharmacy technician for medicines optimisation (high cost drugs) will be responsible for the coordination, delivery and development of High Cost Drugs and associated medicines savings within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust by providing a specialist technical service, under the supervision of the Lead Pharmacist for Medicines Optimisation. This will include the management of staff, writing and updating of procedures and education of pharmacy staff, nurses and doctors. The post holder will work to support, promote and facilitate medicines optimisation ensuring best value, reduced harm and improved outcomes from the significant investment in medicines. They will work as part of the Trust’s Medicines Optimisation Team to achieve the Trust's Medicines Optimisation strategy. The post holder will provide a specialist technical service to the procurement, data reporting and clinical pharmacy teams and also perform a range of medicine supply functions as required. This includes completing and sending monthly and complex ad-hoc financial reports to the finance department, Trust managers and external organisations as required. The post holder will additionally work alongside the Pharmacy Homecare Team and support them in providing an efficient, high quality service.
