Primary Objectives
1. As Senior PR & Communications Executive, you will support to promote the company externally, growing brand awareness, supporting growth, and enhancing The Gym Group’s reputation.
2. You will directly manage the press office, and review external communications content, as well as work on integrated cross-channel comms campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
3. Support with developing and executing PR campaigns to promote our brand and gyms across traditional and digital media platforms, in alignment with the overarching marketing messaging calendar.
4. Propose creative news-generating opportunities with support from PR agency team partners.
5. Be a first point of contact for inbound media enquiries via the TGG press office and build a journalist network through effective engagement.
6. Draft media materials, including press releases, media pitches, and talking points.
7. Support with drafting a library of messaging assets for the company to use externally and help to review externally-facing company comms, including member enquiries, case studies, and award entries.
8. Work with corporate and consumer PR agencies to support with executing on our PR & Corporate Affairs objectives.
9. Monitor media coverage and share relevant sector trends with the wider team.
10. Support on the communications for crisis and issues management to best protect company reputation.
11. Collaborate with brand managers and social media team on creative campaign ideas which work for PR and social, supported by the consumer PR agency, plus monitor for reactive issues.
12. Lead on TGG LinkedIn social media content, including working with the People and Social team for relevant news.
13. Represent the company at key events and media engagements.
14. Adhoc projects as required.
Skills & Experience Required
15. Minimum two-three years' experience in PR, within an agency or in-house team.
16. Excellent writing skills and demonstrated experience speaking with journalists.
17. Passion for brand spark campaign ideas.
18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
19. Highly organised with an ability to prioritise workload and multi-task.
20. Flexible and adaptable to support with events and out of hours issues.
21. Enthusiastic, with a passion for both the value of comms & PR, as well as sport & fitness!
