Learning Support Assistant – SEN (Primary) – The Wirral
Full-Time Position

We are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work in primary schools across The Wirral, supporting children with a range of SEN needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is nurturing, adaptable, and committed to helping children achieve their potential.
The Role:
* Supporting students with various SEN needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
* Working one-to-one or in small groups, adapting learning activities to suit individual needs.
* Helping to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
* Assisting with classroom activities and encouraging positive behaviour.
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement tailored learning plans.
* Providing emotional and social support to help students build confidence and independence.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✅ Experience working with children with SEN (in a school, care, or community setting).
✅ A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
✅ The ability to build trusting relationships with students.
✅ A proactive and flexible approach to learning support.
✅ A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
✅ Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Psychology degree, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
