The team
We are looking for a SVP, Business Development for Global Partnerships and Zoo 55 to identify, evaluate and execute where necessary on critical new growth opportunities in sales and digital.
Reporting to the EVP, Global Sales and Commercial Strategy, and working closely with the President, Global Partnerships & Zoo 55 and the MD, Zoo 55, the SVP, Business Development will be accountable for having an acute understanding of the media market landscape and how GP & Zoo 55 can proactively adapt to outperform the market dynamics.
They will deliver actionable data-led strategies based on data and qualified insights, and lead specific strategic projects to drive meaningful revenue growth for the business. They will be highly curious with an analytical and strategic mindset, passionate about the media & digital landscape, a concise storyteller, excellent presenter and comfortable influencing senior stakeholders.
Main responsibilities
Strategic Insights
1. Monitoring and presentation of emerging trends and M&A activity/insights
2. Financial Analysis across multiple sources (Salesforce, Tableau, Rightline)
3. Data & Insights: Briefing Insights on Sales & Zoo55 business requirements and translating insights into actionable strategy
Business Development Programmes
1. Supporting EVPs with strategic deal renewals (eg: Agatha Christie, Strategic output/volume deals)
2. Bespoke analysis on specific projects (eg: Catalogue growth, new genre opportunities, non-English language content)
3. Strategic bridge between Sales and Digital, evaluating trade-offs and windowing.
Brand Licensing
1. Sizing, evaluating and proposition development of new opportunities (eShop, BFP, VPP)
Zoo 55
1. Develop organic strategies for Zoo55 that align with business goals, target audience segmentation, and brand positioning
2. Support non-organic growth plans, including M&A evaluation and other corporate development opportunities
3. Programme Management of key projects (eg: M&E sales integration, AI, Data and Tracking)
4. Framework for UK label relations and IP/3rd party partners including financial reporting
5. Special Projects - evaluating and quick, test and learn programme
6. Conduct in-depth digital market research to identify emerging trends, competitor analysis, and potential opportunities across various media channels.
7. Monitor and analyze performance data using analytics tools to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
Leadership/Exec/Board Papers
1. Board Papers (narrative and substance): Zoo55, ITV Studios/GP
2. Oversee GP 5 Year Plan
3. Framework & co-ordination of Budget, HY and Quarterly updates
4. Ad hoc projects that deliver growth to the business
Other responsibilities
1. Conduct in-depth analysis of the media market landscape, identifying emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and M&A opportunities.
2. Develop and articulate a clear strategic vision for Global Partnerships and Zoo 55, aligning with overall business objectives.
3. Translate market insights into actionable, data-driven strategies for revenue growth.
4. Perform complex financial analysis across multiple data sources (Salesforce, Tableau, Rightline) to evaluate deal values, sales profiles, and client opportunities.
5. Develop and utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and optimize business performance.
6. Construct detailed financial reports and forecasts.
7. Lead strategic deal renewals and negotiations, including high-value content sales and volume deals.
8. Evaluate and develop new brand licensing opportunities, including eShop, BFP, and VPP initiatives.
9. Develop and manage organic and non-organic growth strategies for Zoo55, including M&A evaluation.
10. Develop and deliver compelling presentations and board papers to senior executives and stakeholders.
11. Effectively communicate complex strategic concepts and financial data.
12. Influence and build consensus among senior leadership teams.
13. Lead and manage strategic projects, including M&E sales integration, AI initiatives, and data tracking programs.
14. Develop and implement frameworks for UK label relations and IP/3rd party partnerships.
15. Oversee the GP 5 year plan, and the framework and coordination of budget, HY, and quarterly updates.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
1. Extensive experience in senior-level business development, strategic planning, or corporate development within the media industry.
2. Proven track record of identifying, evaluating, and executing successful growth strategies in sales and digital media.
3. Significant experience in leading complex deal negotiations and managing strategic partnerships.
4. Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, data-driven decision-making, and market intelligence.
5. Extensive experience in developing and delivering presentations and board papers to senior executives.
6. Experience with M&A, digital transformation, and brand licensing.
7. Experience leading multi year strategic planning.
8. Experience leading financial reporting.
9. Experience working with Digital platforms and technologies.
