Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum
Responsibilities:
* Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that complements the restaurant's menu.
* Provide expert recommendations on wine pairings to enhance guests' dining experiences.
* Conduct wine tastings and educate staff on the characteristics and benefits of various wines.
* Manage inventory, ensuring appropriate stock levels while minimizing waste.
* Stay current with industry trends and new wine releases to continuously update offerings.
* Assist guests in selecting wines based on their personal preferences and dietary restrictions.
* Oversee and support staff training related to wine service and information.
* Engage with customers in a professional manner to enhance their dining experience.
Essential Qualifications:
* No specific educational qualifications required.
* Relevant certifications in wine studies (e.g., WSET) would be a plus but not essential.
Desired Experience:
* Previous experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of wines from different regions and varietals.
* Experience in a fine dining restaurant environment would be advantageous.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
