An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative individual to join the Ophthalmology Team within the Surgical Directorate in NHS Tayside.
The successful applicant will be based within the Ophthalmology department, contributing and delivering care as part of the Macula team and within the wider Ophthalmology care setting as required by service demands. The post holder will also be expected to provide support for the senior nursing colleagues within the ophthalmology service.
The post holder must have proven management skills within a clinical setting, demonstrating excellent leadership and communication. They will have the ability to adapt to changing levels of activity and acuity within the ophthalmology service to work in an autonomous role, exercising advanced practice skills, knowledge and clinical expertise. They will proactively manage, review, assess and provide appropriate care to patients. They will deliver high quality based and person-centred care to all patients within their care.
Applicants must hold first level nursing or midwifery qualification with first degree or other qualification equivalent to level 9 of Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF). You must also hold or be willing to work towards Masters Degree level 11 of Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) specialised qualification relevant to specific post.
Applicants must hold or be willing to work towards Non-Medical Prescribing level 11 (SCQF) (NMC Standards of Proficiency for Nurse and Midwife Prescribers 2006).
Applicants should hold a post registration Ophthalmic Qualification, and or be willing to further develop Ophthalmic Qualifications as service and role develops.
You must have extensive post registration experience within the ophthalmology field and/or demonstrate expert clinical and professional practice developed through experience and theoretical knowledge.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register.
Hours of work are: 37.0 hours.
