The Primary and Community Mental Health (PCMH) service has been shaped with the GP Federation Primary Care Sheffield and Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Trust. The service in Spring 2024 will have aligned the current short term intervention service to embed into all primary care networks. Each network has a bespoke multidisciplinary team which serves that network. This is part of the city’s commitment to delivering the NHS Community Mental Health Framework.
The PCMHT medical team will offer medical support, consultation, and supervision to PCMHT MDTs including prescribing pharmacists, GPs, VCSE organizations, and liaise with CMHTs and wider SHSC services as deemed appropriate by the consultant psychiatrist.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide medical leadership to the Primary and Community Mental Health service.
2. Work alongside clinical leadership and operational manager frameworks and engage in clinical governance processes.
3. Deliver assessments and short-term interventions to support Service Users.

5. Support teaching & training of undergraduate students and postgraduate trainees.
6. Support supervision of non-medical prescribers and the pharmacy team.
7. Support Audit and Quality Improvement activities.
8. Work in line with Clinical Effectiveness standards.
9. Participate in Continuing Professional Development.
10. Comply with all Trust policies and procedures.
