As an Accountant within the Purchase Ledger Team, you will be responsible for the preparation of VAT and other regulatory returns. Reporting to the Senior Accountant as part of the Purchase Ledger team, you will be responsible for processing VAT returns and dealing with multi-currency payment runs. You will build relationships and identify areas for improvement throughout the VAT process. To support and develop the team you will review Purchase Ledger VAT postings, correcting where needed as well as providing guidance and feedback to the team. As the Business continues to grow in size and complexity, this role will increasingly require an ability to adapt while working to tight deadlines. This will therefore be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a fast-paced and collaborative role. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK from their first day of employment. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Companys hybrid working from home policy. Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA. Purchase Ledger experience including multi-currency payment runs. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. VAT return experience and overseas VAT experience would be advantageous. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions. Main Responsibilities Preparing monthly, quarterly, annual VAT and other regulatory returns. Reviewing Purchase Ledger VAT postings and correcting as required. Creating weekly payment run files in various currencies. Producing supplier payment reporting for Companies House. Maintaining procedure guides relevant to the role. Working to tight reporting deadlines and with high volumes of data.
