We are working with a highly successful global hedge fund, headquartered in London, who have a focus on fixed income trading. They have consistently delivered strong returns since their inception— predominantly double-digit performance — with an AUM in the mid-single-digit billions. Since the turn of the new year they have focused internally on where they need to improve the team, and they are currently looking to hire an Engineer to focus on the Order Management System (OMS) and other technologies surrounding this.
This position will sit within their tech team, which has been invested in heavily over the years, as it is something the senior stakeholders see as a value creator. This has resulted in great people and systems, which enhance their trading environments and success. Responsibilities will include the following (but not limited to):
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of the firm’s Order Management System (OMS) / Execution Management System (EMS).
* Evaluate, build, or enhance OMS/EMS solutions, determining the best approach for the firm’s needs.
* Automate order flow from the Portfolio Management System (PMS) to the OMS/EMS.
* Develop systems to support execution strategies and trade management.
* Work on FIX connectivity and low-latency software development.
* Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, including the CTO and senior developers.
* Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and efficiency.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful and collaborative fund with a progressive and positive working culture that truly values technology as an integral part of their success. The entrepreneurial culture at the firm requires this hire to get up and running quickly. Please see further requirements below:
* Strong academic background in Computer Science or a related field.
* Proven experience with OMS/EMS (essential).
* FIX connectivity experience (highly regarded).
* Strong C# programming skills, with hands-on experience in low-latency development.
* Experience in systematic trading environments (advantageous but not essential).
* Familiarity with fixed income (interest rates) products (beneficial but not required).
* A pragmatic, problem-solving mindset with a positive, can-do attitude.
* At least 5+ years of experience, ideally in a hedge fund or similar financial environment (open to other firms as well).
