ABOUT MBS
MBS, Unilever’s Marketing and Business Services Procurement team, is responsible for Unilever’s sourcing and supplier strategy and execution for all third party spend across Marketing, Business Services, and IT, supporting the business requirements of Brands, Business Groups, Markets, and functions to drive 4G growth through strategic supplier management, cost and value management, sustainability and innovation, aligned with Unilever’s Compass. The team manages an annual spend of ~9B Euro with a supplier base of about +30,000.
JOB PURPOSE
The BG Assistant Strategic Sourcing Manager will support the Marketing Procurement Business Group leads who partner and work with our Brand teams to increase effectiveness of our marketing procurement by streamlining accountabilities, building capabilities, and leveraging knowledge, relationships, and business strategies across markets.
They will increase efficiency of our marketing procurement by driving scale where it makes sense, decreasing fragmentation, prioritizing higher impact areas, leveraging technology and data, and drive performance that unlocks 4G growth for Unilever.
The role will support a culture of collaboration and agility to enable an efficient project roll out. It will ensure close alignment in strategy with functions and the Marketing Procurement Portfolio teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understand the business group needs related to marketing spend portfolios and bring deep expertise and insights across the value chain and supply base to translate the business requirements into effective future-fit procurement strategies.
2. Support the connection of strategy & execution aligned to Unilever Compass, Global Business Groups & Business Unit goals and priorities
3. Together with Business Group Leads and Brand teams create effective and efficient brand operating models that are best fit for brand and category.
4. Balance where to maximize the power of Unilever and where to drive brand specific solutions.
5. Act as the voice of the Business Groups and brands to the wider marketing procurement community
6. Lead rigorous execution of the priorities and transformation initiatives across the marketing value chain with a brand & consumer lens.
7. Support marketing procurement’s delivery of OKR’s and financial targets (including value delivery) for the Business Group Support the Business Group Leads with the delivery of results across all Business Units.
8. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders globally, to support business, market, and Marketing Procurement priorities and enable rapid alignment and deployment.
9. Ensure Portfolio fundamentals ( data consistency, data insights, recurring stakeholder communications, contracts, etc.) are all put in place for the Business Group.
10. Support future proofing the marketing portfolio by driving digital approaches that help simplify the life for our brand teams, while unlocking efficiencies in the marketing value chain.
11. Support internal performance management and reporting including creation and stewardship of relevant key performance indicators for the relevant Business Group and Brand teams.

Qualification/experience
12. Bachelor’s Degree
13. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
14. Experience and knowledge of Marketing Portfolios across the value chain.
15. Experience within or in service of the function being supported by procurement.
16. Strategic Sourcing experience.
17. Experience of working in cross geographical teams.
18. Experience of procurement transformation, change and business engagement.
19. Experience and knowledge of business models in marketing procurement will be a strong plus.
20. Leading and supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
21. Unafraid to work with senior stakeholders and key suppliers, supported through excellent communication skills.
22. Strong Excel and PowerPoint abilities

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
