About Us:
TASC (Transitions Adult Social Care) is a dedicated social care team within Integrated Adult Social Care, closely linked with Children’s Services and Education. We work with young people aged 14 to 25 across the footprint of Devon County Council. Our team includes Social Workers, Social Care Assessors, Occupational Therapists, and Business/Information Support Officers.
This is an exciting time for our transitions service, now in the second year of a development programme to promote a more joined-up approach; working closely with colleagues in Children’s Services, Commissioning, Education, Health, and the voluntary sector to improve transition arrangements for young people, and those who care for them. The successful applicant will play a significant role in taking this work forward and improving the transitions experience for young people in Devon.
Our Mission:
We adhere to the Care Act principles, engaging with young people with disabilities to promote and maximize independent living skills. Our goal is to help young people engage with their community, gain employment, and live their adult life as independently as possible.
The Role:
We are seeking a second Team Manager to support day-to-day operations and work closely with the Community Service Manager, our project team, and key partners to support service improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support daily operations of the TASC team.
2. Collaborate with Children’s Service and other key partners.
3. Contribute to service development plans.
4. Promote quality standards, adaptability, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
About You:
1. An experienced registered professional (Social Worker/Occupational Therapist).
2. Experience of working in adult community or children’s services and working knowledge of issues relating to transitions.
3. Operational management experience.
4. Advanced skills in emotional intelligence and team empowerment.
5. Ability to promote innovative ways of working.
6. Hold a current full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
